User Experience Case Study: Redesigning EMAS Interface
This is my first ever User Experience project. I want to thank these amazing people: Muhammad Daffa Amirullah, M. Biyadikalkhair Dyandra Putra, Gracella Patricia, Ledi Loren, Rafi Muhammad Akbar (and other angels) for making this project possible.
Here's a TL;DR if you're stretched for time.
EMAS is an intuitive Content Learning Management System for the University of Indonesia students. It has digitalized learning in a centralized fashion, simplifying communication between lecturer and student.
The purpose of this study was to gain insight into any improvements. EMAS has a ton of independent features. I decided to limit the scope of the research, based on the functionalities that students used the most, using a survey. There are two parts to this case study: interviews and user interface design. The interview served to collect qualitative data (pain points in the functionalities contained in the scope) and quantitative data (time to complete a task). The user interface design was an implementation of improvements upon those pain points. In the end, the new UI design shortened the time by an average of 64%.
If you're interested in the tools I applied to analyze qualitative data (and why I used them), please take a look! (I promise it's skimmable)
